The commemorative banknotes of the 24th Winter Olympic Games (Beijing Winter Olympics) began to be exchanged yesterday. In order to avoid waiting in line, the bank staff said that the exchange date is until December 27, and it is recommended that you come to the outlet to exchange at the wrong peak.

Yesterday afternoon, Beijing Youth Daily reporter came to the business department of Bank of China Beijing Branch in Dongcheng District, and saw a "warm reminder for commemorative banknote exchange" posted on the gate, reminding the redeemer to prepare ID cards and cash, and indicating the queue direction. In the hall, the staff took the initiative to remind every customer who came in: "The waiting customers have a long queue of tens of meters, and it takes at least one hour to change commemorative banknotes."

The staff member said that the exchange period is from December 21 to December 27, and there is a week. It is ok to exchange it in a few days. Customers who have to go to work on weekdays don’t have to worry. This outlet can also exchange commemorative banknotes on Saturday and Sunday.

According to the announcement of the central bank, there are two sets of Winter Olympic banknotes issued this time, each set includes one for ice sports and one for snow sports, each with a denomination of 20 yuan, and the number of issuance is 200 million sets (including 40,000 sets of historical currency files). According to the unified arrangement of the central bank, the number of Beijing Winter Olympics banknotes is 11.5 million sets, which will be jointly undertaken by China Industrial and Commercial Bank Beijing Branch, China Bank Beijing Branch and China Construction Bank Beijing Branch.

According to the reservation results announced by the central bank, a total of 137.6 million sets of national winter Olympic commemorative banknotes were reserved, with a total reservation rate of 68.84%. It is understood that all the commemorative banknotes previously issued by the central bank are in denominations of 10 yuan, 50 yuan or 100 yuan, and this is the first time to issue commemorative banknotes with denominations of 20 yuan.
